Description:
- This is a fabricated Steel restraint coupling.
Application:
- Joins and restrains a plain-end Ductile Iron pipe to plain-end Ductile Iron pipe or plain-end Steel pipe to plain-end Steel pipe.
Key Specifications:

- SLEEVE: ASTM A283 Gr. C or Carbon Steel having a minimum yield of 30,000 PSI
- FINISH: Flexi-Coat® Fusion-Bonded Epoxy

- GLAND: 65-45-12 Ductile Iron (ASTM A536)
- WEDGES: Single Tooth, Ductile Iron, heat treated for Ductile Iron pipe applications
- ACTUATING BOLTS: 60-40-18 Ductile Iron (ASTM A536)
- BREAKAWAY NUTS: Carbon Steel
- FINISH: Gland is Flexi-Coat® Fusion-Bonded Epoxy, per AWWA C213; Wedges and actuating bolts are E-coated Epoxy
Kit Specifications
- GASKET: SBR Standard Mechanical Joint per ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11 SBR, Multi-Seal gasket, or MJ transition gasket for Steel/IPS ODs. 30″-48″ sizes supplied with Smith-Blair® MJ gasket, all other sizes use standard MJ gaskets
- STUDS/NUTS: High strength, low alloy, per AWWA C111; Optional: 304 Stainless Steel or fluoropolymercoated nuts.

Deflection:
- Assembled joints into each follower gland through 12″ shall allow for three degree deflection on 3″, five degrees on 4″-12″, two degrees 14″-24″, 1.5 degrees 18″-24″, one degree 30″-48″.
